This place belongs on every Sunflower State traveler's winter bucket list!
Christmas in Lindsborg, KS is a magical time. This village is nicknamed Little Sweden thanks to its European architecture, fun Swedish festivals, and authentic European shops. Lindsborg is home to some of the best Christmas events in Kansas, with craft shows, concerts, a St. Lucia parade, and so much more. The Visit Lindsborg Facebook page has all the information about the 2023 celebrations.
One of the best Christmas light displays in Kansas is at the Hutchinson Zoo. This mid-sized city also hosts a phenomenal Christmas parade: this year's Light Up Hutch Parade is scheduled for the evening of December 2, 2023. The city is also home to fun Christmas events in Kansas like the Christmas in the Foothills craft show.
Hays, KS is another town that really knows how to celebrate the season. The city has a sizable population (for Kansas), but has a great small-town feel that makes it wonderful to stroll through the city's main drag, especially during Christmastime. The entire Chestnut Street area turns into a winter wonderland during Frostfest, a month-long celebration of festivities that belongs on every Kansan's bucket list!
Manhattan is home to one of the best Christmas events in Kansas: the Manhattan Festival of Lights in Blue Earth Plaza. The winter season here almost makes you believe that the Little Apple has been transformed into the Big Apple. The entire Blue Earth Plaza area is covered in lights, with a massive tree, live music, food, and visits from Santa. This year's tree-lighting ceremony takes place on November 24, 2023. You can get more info from the Manhattan Festival of Lights website.
Cowtown is home to plenty of fun events and festivals that make it one of the best places to go for Christmas in Kansas. The Illuminations at Botanica Garden light display is spectacular and an annual favorite of many Sunflower State residents.
