Usually, farmers markets disappear when the weather gets cold, but this Kansas market isn’t going anywhere. During the winter, you’ll find a great indoor farmers market in place of the usual outdoor booths. When the weather gets cold and you still want to support a farmers market, check out this one that’s safe from the stinging wind.
What happens when it's too cold to hang out under those tents with your wares? Old Town Farmers Market has a year-round opportunity to support small Kansas businesses.
This market operates in the wintertime at WAVE, a building that lets this farmers market camp out on most Saturdays safely inside away from the crazy Kansas winter weather.
Among the booths, some of the best items are handmade with care, like cheese you won't find at the store or colorful soaps, lotions, and oils you'll want to use around your home.
Other happenings at the market include curbside loading for sellers, SNAP approved purchases, community yoga, live music, and if you're lucky - tasting opportunities!
You'll find a little less fresh food and a little more crafted items, like jewelry or unique items to gift your loved ones for Christmas and Valentine's Day. Then again, who needs an excuse to purchase something beautiful?
The dates for the winter market are November 9th, 16th, & 23rd, December 7th, 14th, and 21st, January 4th, 11th, and 18th, February 1st, 8th, 15th, and 22nd, and March 7th, 14th, and 21st. Then it's back to their spring hours and location at the Farm & Art plaza.
