Everyone knows Kansans love good barbecue, which is why we made our own flavors like Kansas City barbecue. It’s our opinion that barbecue tastes the best when it comes from Kansas, and this restaurant is no different. Do you remember an old Kansas restaurant named Georgio’s in Wichita, that used to serve the absolute best barbecue? Unfortunately, it closed in the 90s, but this iconic Kansas BBQ joint is back again.
This unassuming tent camped out under an old unused gas station isn't just some guy selling food, it's the new spot for Georgio's II BBQ, an amazing new spot that's bringing old beloved flavors back from before.
A restaurant named Georgios, just west of 21st & Grove in the mid 80' to early 90's, developed quite a cult following during its time here. To be honest, we've missed it since it closed in 1991.
However, the good news is that there's a small outdoor restaurant using an old gas station lot to sell barbecue with all those flavors you may be missing.
Reviews for Georgio's II rave about the barbecue (especially the brisket) being the best in town, with plenty of amazing sides that taste just like mama made them, yet somehow better.
The love of cooking this man showed at the original restaurant has extended to his son Steve, and today we are lucky enough to have this amazing food during the warmer months of the year.
Luckily for us, they're open Thursdays through Sundays from mid April until early December. They'll be open from 12:30 to 9:30 p.m. Thursdays and Fridays, 2 to 10 p.m. on Saturdays, and 12 to 5 p.m. on Sundays. Anyone down for some chicken and brisket?
