I’m willing to bet most Kansans haven’t had a hot pot yet, but that is just fine, because we’ve found the perfect place to have your first. Food is always a comfort, especially when it hits that spot we seem to only have during colder days of the year. If you’ve never had this type of food before, you should check this place out.
Welcome to Overland Park's first hot pot spot, named Aoyama Point. Aoyama in town is known for their ramen joint, but Taiwanese-style hot pots are something most Kansans haven't experienced.
Traditionally, hot pots are at the center of the table where you and your dinner friends all share the broth as you dip in various foods to cook and enjoy them. No one double dips, and you're in charge of cooking your food just how you like it. All of the meat is sliced thin, so it cooks quickly and evenly.
At Aoyama Point, you pay for a personal pot, which is cooked in the back and brought out to sit on heated tables that hold it at the perfect height as well as keep things warm. This makes sure that you can eat at your leisure and still have everything to yourself.
Choose between Thai Tom Yum, Szechuan, Korean, seafood, lamb, tomato beef, and more. We personally love the lamb pot, but we'd like to think that there's a pot out there for everyone.
