Lisa loves animals and has dogs, rats, cats, guinea pigs, and snakes. She is passionate about animal rescue and live music - traveling across the country to see a favorite band is a pretty regular occurrence! Being out hiking in the woods enjoying the scenery with her beloved dogs is another favorite hobby, and also checking out the Pokemon Go scene in whatever city she happens to be in at any given time (coffee and dog leash in hand). It’s no secret that some of the Sunflower State’s larger cities have plenty of great museums. The Evel Knievel Museum in Topeka is so much fun, and no family visit to Wichita would be complete without stopping by Exploration Place – but there are also some great small-town museums in Kansas that shouldn’t be overlooked. One of our favorites is tucked away in the little city of Wamego. Located in the northeast corner of the state in Pottawatomie County, Wamego is home to just under 5,000 people, and it’s also where you’ll find the delightful Wamego Historical Museum, which offers a charming look into the city’s past that feels like a step back in time.
