There Is A Tiny European Shop Hiding In This Charming Small Town In Kansas
The Midwest may have something of a reputation as being pretty staunchly rooted in Americana, but there’s a surprising amount of European history here, too – for example, in the late 1800s, many Scandinavians and Germans immigrated to Kansas, and their influence is still seen today. The town of Lindsborg, KS is known as “Little Sweden,” and it’s a delightfully charming spot for a day trip. The town was founded by Swedish immigrants and celebrates that heritage, with statues of Dala horses scattered throughout town and the bi-annual Svensk Hyllningsfest festival. This is such a unique town in Kansas and it’s not too shocking that you’ll find several Swedish shops and restaurants here, with one of our favorites being Hemslojd, Inc., an adorable European store in Lindsborg located right on Main Street.
For more information about Hemslojd, Inc., check out the Hemslojd, Inc. website or the Hemslojd, Inc. Facebook page. You can even purchase items online if you’re not able to make it to this European store in Lindsborg, Kansas in person.
