The Flint Hills National Scenic Byway will take you through approximately 48 miles of the most beautiful, photo-worthy landscapes of anywhere in the state.

You can begin your drive in the small town of Council Grove and travel to Interstate 35 near Cassoday (or vice versa).

As you drive, stop at the Tallgrass Prairie National Preserve.

At this national preserve, you can learn all about the amazing tallgrass prairie ecosystem. Tour historic ranch buildings, explore one of the three nature trails, and stop by the visitor center. This destination makes for an excellent day trip in Kansas.
