A good portion of Kansas was once an ocean, and because of that, we have many little fossils all throughout the state’s rock just waiting to be discovered. Fick Fossil and history museum in Kansas is the perfect spot to learn about fossils, prehistory, and a bit of Kansas history on the side. Come check it out for yourself!
Welcome to Fick Fossil & History Museum, a spot in Kansas where you can see just what creatures inhabited the earth long before we were ever here.
Every display is packed with interesting finds, from geodes to old tools and plenty of small fossils in every shape and size. They're displayed well, and in containers that keep tiny hands from getting too close.
Seeing giant fish that once swam where we live is a bit of a wild thought to have. Visiting the museum is recommended if you've ever seen and loved Monument Rocks.
Some of the more commonly found fossils, like these teeth, are arranged into a form of art worthy of display in a fossil museum. Folk art is pretty cool when you make it out of teeth!
This fossil and history museum also has a great big of more recent history, especially from the Kansas area. Old tools, folk art, and plenty of insights into how early Kansans lived. Can you imagine living in a house like this?
This museum is a great place for family visits, where you and the kids or grandkids can all see what Kansas used to look like and what things can be found right here in the earth from millenia past.
