The Tallgrass Prairie National Preserve is one of the most beautiful places in Kansas. Tallgrass once covered a huge chunk of the country, but most of that has now been converted to farmland. Kansas is one of the few remaining places in the country where you can see this much tallgrass. The preserve spans 11,000 acres and contains plenty of great hiking trails and areas to explore.

Your next stop on this road trip will be a visit to Dodge City. This old Wild West town is now home to a living history museum, Boot Hill Museum. There are lots of great historic attractions throughout the city, but Boot Hill is a fantastic place to stop if you want to get a taste of the town's historical significance.

There are even historical re-enactments, which are a big hit with kids. The Old West is alive and well in Dodge City.

Chalk Pyramids, Lewis, KS 67748, USA
Your final stop on this road trip through Kansas is way out in Scott City. The Chalk Pyramids, also known as Monument Rocks, is one of our favorite wonders in Kansas.
