Lisa loves animals and has dogs, rats, cats, guinea pigs, and snakes. She is passionate about animal rescue and live music - traveling across the country to see a favorite band is a pretty regular occurrence! Being out hiking in the woods enjoying the scenery with her beloved dogs is another favorite hobby, and also checking out the Pokemon Go scene in whatever city she happens to be in at any given time (coffee and dog leash in hand). Visitor centers dot the country’s highway system, but it’s likely that you don’t think of them too much. They’re often used for bathroom breaks, maybe to pick up a brochure or two, but most visitor centers in Kansas don’t have much of a reputation as a destination all on their own. The spot we’re featuring today just might change your mind, as this is a pretty cool visitor center in Kansas! The Tallgrass Prairie National Preserve is among the state’s natural wonders, and you can learn all about it at the Tallgrass Prairie Visitor Center, possibly the best visitors center in Texas.
For more information about the Tallgrass Prairie National Preserve and the Tallgrass Prairie Visitor Center, check out the National Park Service website.
If you’re traveling into the area and need somewhere to stay, check out this great Chase County, KS Vrbo log cabin. We think it’s a great home base for your adventures.
