7 Log Cabins And Yurts That Are Perfect For A Summer Overnight Stay On A Kansas Lake
Though we love camping, and will always keep our tent when we need it, there’s something cool about renting a cabin or yurt type sleeping arrangement for a day on the lake. These are some cabins and yurts we think are perfect for a summer vacation in Kansas. Let’s take a look at our more comfortable options when spending a weekend at the lake!

Milford lake, out in Milford, Kansas, is the home of a host of sleeping arrangements, in all different shapes and sizes. However, what many don't know, is that Acorns Resort also offers yurts, a sort of glamping experience that feels more like a tent with a bed instead of a wooden home. Add on all the lake options, and you've got a home away from home for sure.

Pomona State Park in Vassar, Kansas, is sometimes an underrated location to spend warm days at. They have a few cabins available for rent, including both one and two-bedroom units. It's a great place for a break from your regular routine.

Kanopolis is a gorgeous area in Marquette, where not only do you get the ability to sleep in one of their cabins, but exploring the trails and lake in the area is one of the best times you can have in Kansas.

Clinton State Park in Lawrence is a gorgeous spot, full of bluffs, the reservoir, and most importantly, comfortable cabins. These cabins, like others on this list, don't include bedsheets, food, condiments, or pillows but neither do your tents. Just bring your tent supplies and a fun attitude!

El Dorado may not be known for its state park to some, but we think these beautiful cabins make this state park one of our best. These modern cabins are a great way to bring more of the family with you, especially if they can't sleep on the ground like others can. I know I always like a bed beneath me, even when I'm roughing it.

Eisenhower State Park in Osage City is a beautiful park as well, but in addition to cabins, they also have yurts to rent out. Though I don't really understand "glamping" I enjoy the idea of a tent that can't be pushed over by these darn Kansas winds. Plus, it still feels like you're sleeping outside. We love that about yurts!

Fall River in Toronto is always gorgeous in the fall, but even during the summer the tree lined waters are beautiful. The cabins here sleep six, but have plenty of space for you and the crew. Plus, using a tent outside is a good way to get the best of both worlds.
As always, if we’ve missed somewhere special and dear to your Kansas heart, let us know! We love to hear about all of your favorite spots around the Sunflower State.
