She is passionate about animal rescue and live music - traveling across the country to see a favorite band is a pretty regular occurrence! Being out hiking in the woods enjoying the scenery with her beloved dogs is another favorite hobby, and also checking out the Pokemon Go scene in whatever city she happens to be in at any given time (coffee and dog leash in hand). If you’re anything resembling a cinephile, it’s extremely likely that you’ve heard the name Buster Keaton. Born Joseph Frank Keaton in 1895, he was one of the brightest stars of the silent film era, and his penchant for hilarious physical comedy while wearing a deadpan expression earned him the nickname “The Great Stone Face.” Even today, many film critics consider him to be among the greatest actor-directors of all time, so it’s quite surprising that he hailed from a small town in the Sunflower State that’s barely a speck on the map! There are plenty of famous people from Kansas, but most of them are from our larger cities, not places as tiny as little Piqua, Kansas.
