How many scenic byways in Kansas are there?  

Kansas has a total of 12 byways; nine of those are considered scenic. Two of those nine scenic byways are designated as National Scenic Byways, and three of them are historic byways. They stretch for hundreds of miles total, bringing drivers to see some of the most impressive and beautiful scenery the state has to offer. The Flint Hills Scenic Byway, for example, leads visitors through some incredible tallgrass prairies and affords a look at some of the native grasses that call this land home. 

What are the most beautiful places in Kansas?  

Among the most beautiful places in Kansas are the following:

  • Grinter’s Sunflower Farm in Leavenworth County. When people think of Kansas, they often think of sunflower fields, and that’s exactly what you’ll find here.
  • Prairie Dog State Park is quite lovely, especially if you’re a fan of wildlife.
  • The Maxwell Wildlife Refuge is one of the most picturesque places in the state.
