For a fall weather adventure in Kansas, Atchison is one city we truly can’t get enough of. Historic towns and autumn leaves are made for each other! There’s plenty of Atchison to go around, if you’d like to visit sometime. Grab that bucket list, and mark it down!
Today's adventures lead us to Atchison, where history and beautiful scenery come together.
Founded back in 1854, Atchison has many an old building, historic home, and scenic view. Full of trees in every shade during the fall, it makes for a gorgeous adventure.
As a town full of amazing thrift stores, you'll find that fall is when all the best things come out. I may be a bit biased towards cooler weather, but the red, orange, and brown tones of autumn are too hard to pass up.
If you're into haunted places, you'll be delighted to know that Atchison is also one of the most haunted places in Kansas. Between the Sallie house and other local spots, you'll have plenty of ghosts to hunt for!
No matter if you're here alone or with friends and family, we think Atchison is a beauty to behold. Why not get a dose of fall foliage and a great Kansas town all in one?
What’s amazing about Kansas is just how much the community helps one another, no matter how far. If you have a great trip idea or place to visit, check out this page where we take suggestions!
