Kansas isn’t known for having large and impressive waterfalls like other parts of the country. However, that doesn’t mean we don’t have some gorgeous waterfalls scattered around the state. Angel Falls, located in Lansing, is one waterfall that may be small, but it is still beautiful and magnificent, especially throughout the fall months.
Angel Falls is a favorite waterfall of many Kansans and rightly so. It is in a secluded and quiet area and the landscape around it is stunning. However, during the autumn is when this area is truly spectacular.
To reach these falls, you must go on a short, 0.5-mile trail. This trail is flat and paved, making it a kid-friendly hike and perfect for strollers and wheelchairs.
Have your camera ready as you will walk through some beautiful, forested areas. When the fall colors are at their peak, the entire trail is jaw-dropping.
Once you reach Angel Falls, enjoy the beauty of the area. This waterfall only drops approximately 3 feet but it is breathtaking from any angle. However, the paved trail does end so you must do a little climbing if you want to get closer to the water.
Every October, you can spend even more time near Angel Falls and the fall foliage at the Lansing Fall Festival. This festival takes place along the Angel Falls Trail and features vendors, music, crafts, and more.
