Of course, the most underrated area of Kansas is the southwest, where there’s a lot of things to see that you might not have seen before. Whether it is far away from where you are now or close to home, southwest Kansas is truly a beautiful place to explore.

This bison range is a perfect place to start enjoying our local nature. Here, you can take a tour, enjoy wildlife, and even wildflower spotting walks.

This beautiful aircraft museum includes everything from helicopters to crop dusters and airplanes that have seen war. If you're a fan of aviation, you've got to see this place.

A beautiful section of Kansas prairie, including the famous Jacob's Well, which may or may not be haunted by a ghost horse and victims of its depths.

This attraction in Meade holds plenty of memorabilia inside these historic buildings, which include a barn and a home part of the Dalton Gang's hijinks.

Boot Hill is a must-see at least once, especially if you can catch a show at the saloon. Wander around these old buildings like it's the wild west, and have a good time!

Another spot in Dodge City, the Gunfighters Wax Museum is equal parts historically interesting and creepy.

If you've never been outside of Dodge City to see the trail ruts, you're missing out. All of the settlers traveling through here across the Santa Fe Trail left their mark in the ground so deeply, you can still see them today when the grass is short.

Barbed wire doesn't seem very interesting, but if you think about how many versions there have been since it's creation, it gets a lot better.

This beautiful section of prairie is perfect for all sorts of outdoor activities, but hiking is the best way to see as much of it as you can. It's just a beautiful area full of everything that makes Kansas beautiful.

This beautiful zoo is somewhat unknown to Kansas compared to larger zoos, but you're missing out. The animals here are just as amazing, and just as full of wildlife you can't get around these parts.

Though it isn't exactly her home, it's a replica of where she lived in the movie, with a convenient yellow brick road and everything. Stop by sometime and have a fun time!
