In a state like Kansas, there are two things that connect just about everyone. Those two things are 1) the weather and 2) food. Through word-of-mouth, these restaurants have become famous in their own way. Why not cross some more great Kansas restaurants off the list?
1. Beethoven's #9 Restaurant - 2 West Piankishaw St Paola, KS
If you're a lover of German food (and who isn't, really?) you'll absolutely click with this restaurant in Paola. Why not get a little closer to Kansas settlers' roots and enjoy classic foods without the work?
2. Bobo's Drive In - 2300 SW 10th Ave Topeka, KS
When you live in a state without In-N-Out Burger, you might think you're left out of the loop, but I'm here to let you know there's something much better, right in Topeka. Why not give them a try?
3. The Brookville Hotel - 105 E Lafayette Ave Abilene, KS
Reading your comments on previous pieces about fried chicken, the Brookville Hotel seems to be widely agreed to be one of Kansas' best. If you haven't gone yet, what's stopping you?
4. The Burger Stand - 803 Massachusetts St. The Casbah, Lawrence, KS
Crazy fun burger flavors you've never tasted anywhere else? That's what you'll find right here at The Burger Stand. They're really one for the books, guys. I haven't had anything I don't like yet.
5. Chicken Annie's - 498 E K47 Hwy Girard, K
Speaking of popular chicken places that have you guys crowing, there's always Chicken Annie's. I've never had the chance to go, but from everyone's comments, I know they're nothing short of delicious.
6. Cozy Inn - 108 N 7th St Salina, KS
It's been a long while since I've been around for a sack of burgers, but this place is widely famous across the state as a great place for delicious fast food. Plus, why wouldn't you get a sack full of burgers? That sounds great!
7. The Firehouse Cafe - 1824 E Hutchinson St Hutchinson, KS
Growing on the list is The Firehouse Cafe in Hutch. Between locals and those around where I live, this place is definitely mentioned often. Classic breakfast in a firehouse sounds awesome to the kid in everyone, right?
8. NuWay
Though I might not like these, I'm sure they have plenty of fans across the state. It's one of Kansas' best, even if it is a chain restaurant. We created it, so it's here forever. (Unlike some burger chains I know of.)
9. Prairie Nut Hut - 1306 Quincy Altoona, KS
I don't think I have friends who haven't been here or heard of this joint. Frog legs, mountain oysters, and fries? Sounds a little crazy, but the flavors are nothing to deny.
10. Renaissance Cafe - 210 N Center St Assaria, KS
Though many haven't heard of Assaria, plenty have heard of it's star restaurant, the Renaissance Cafe. Who wouldn't like mozzarella chicken or baked salmon? Are they nuts?
11. Sommerset Hall Cafe - 5701 SW Douglas Rd Topeka, KS
Pie! Pie! Pie! Sommerset Hall in Topeka has plenty of menu items, but what do I hear most? Try the pie! Get dessert! You have to! (It was delicious, and I agree, you really have to.)
