Wilson's Orchard sits on acres and acres of beautiful land.
Surrounded by old oak forest, the farm occupies both sides of a valley with Rapid Creek winding through the land.
As soon as you enter, you'll feel like your worlds away from the big city.
It's a perfect way to slow down and enjoy the simple things in life.
Once you arrive, head to the orchard on a fun tractor ride.
Hop on to the tractor and travel down the valley, through the creek and out into the apple orchard. Rides cost $5 for those 4 and up, but are redeemable in apples on your way back from the orchard. It's a pretty sweet deal!
At the orchard, you'll be greeted by rows and rows of different kinds of apples.
Pick one or a whole basket! All you have to do is bring what you found to the cashier and they'll weigh it and ring you up.
Read the marked signs to find the right apple.
You don't have to be an apple expert to pick apples at Wilson's Orchard. Each row of apples is labeled by type. Not sure what would work best for your apple pie? Their friendly staff is more than willing to assist you in finding the best choice for you!
Take some cider home with you.
With cider to-go, you can bring a gallon or half-gallon home and heat it over the stove to make hot cider. Sounds like a cozy evening!
They even make cider donuts from scratch.
The orchard has its own bakery and sweet shop where they make apple pies and turnovers, dried apple chips, apple snack mix, and homemade caramel drizzle, in addition to cider donuts.
Wilson's Orchard is open daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. through October.
In addition to apples, pumpkins are available at the orchard, but only during the month of October. For now, you can still head to Wilson's Orchard in September for a family fun day of apple picking! Address: 4823 Dingleberry Road NE, Iowa City, Iowa
