Every small town in Iowa is known for something. Le Mars is the Ice Cream Capital of the World. Gunder is home to the state’s best (and biggest!) hamburgers. And the small town of Walker is known for their summer festival featuring, well, a whole bunch of pickles! This year, the Walker Pickle Days will be held July 26 – 28, 2018.
Walker, Iowa puts on a pickle festival that rivals some of the best in the world during their Walker Pickle Days
The highlight of the event might be the 5k! Participants get their own limited-edition, pickle themed shirt thats designed by the community year after year.
One of the most fun events is the pickle eating contest! After trying dozens of varities throughout the day, can you scarf down a few more? Your prize will be.... a giant jar of pickles!
Along with pickle eating contests and the Miss Sweet and Mr. Dill contests, you will find plenty of family friend activities, live entertainment, a tractor pull, and a few games and contests.
