Lisa loves animals and has dogs, rats, cats, guinea pigs, and snakes. She is passionate about animal rescue and live music - traveling across the country to see a favorite band is a pretty regular occurrence! Being out hiking in the woods enjoying the scenery with her beloved dogs is another favorite hobby, and also checking out the Pokemon Go scene in whatever city she happens to be in at any given time (coffee and dog leash in hand). You may know that Iowa is home to the world’s largest truck stop, Iowa 80. The complex is so massive that you may not be aware that it also houses a museum! The truck stop itself is an incredible 75 acres (four times larger than the average truck stop) and has parking for 900 semi-trucks. The Iowa 80 Trucking Museum is located in the parking lot and contains dozens of antique trucks, a gift shop, and even a small theater that plays informational videos.
Best of all, admission to the museum is free! Donations are always appreciated, however. There’s a lot to absorb here, and you’ll want to plan to spend at least a few hours checking out exhibits. The museum’s Facebook page has tons of information on their displays, plus their hours of operation.
