Rachel lives in eastern Iowa. She was born in Wisconsin, but only lived there for a few weeks before her parents realized how much better Iowa was and moved. She believes in serial commas, kindness, and good food.
The DNR (Department of Natural Resources) calls Iowa, “a treasure chest of natural resources.” It’s true. No matter where in the state you happen to be, there’s probably a state park close by that represents our state perfectly. This particular Iowa state park covers a huge amount of land, is located just west and north of the state’s center, has a large lake perfect for fishing, over 45 miles of trails, and a lovely sandy beach.
