1. Winterset Cidery, Winterset
It's an integral part of the Madison County scenery, and just 30 minutes southwest of Des Moines. The cidery grows over 30 varieties of apples. Enjoy the giant tasting room with vaulted ceilings. The craft hard cider is made in Iowa. They don't add water or sugar to the cider. The cidery is open Thursday through Sunday.

2. Wilson's Orchard, Iowa City
For a fun family day out, this is a wonderful choice. It's a real working apple farm where you can pick your own apples when they are in season. The kids will love the tractor rides. There's plenty of fresh apple cider at the barn.

3. Sutliff Cider Company, Lisbon
Enjoy delicious hard cider made on-site in one of the most scenic areas of the state. It's just five miles north of the small town of Lisbon. They press apple juice, ferment, and bottle it in one of the historic buildings on the property. Their tasting room is on the ground level of the estate's 120-year-old barn.

4. Jefferson County Ciderworks, Fairfield
This is home to a line of New American Ciders. Enjoy samples in the tap room that include Dry Hopped Cider, Hibiscus Cider, Sour Cherry Cider, and Apple Hard Cider.

5. Jasper Winery, Des Moines
This incredible cider is called South Cider. It has a hint of cinamon and is a tart apple cider. The tasting room at this cidery is open seven days a week. While you are there, sample the beautiful Jasper wines. An indoor/outdoor fireplace and outdoor patio make this place a great spot to relax and enjoy some Iowa goodness.

6. Fishback & Stephenson
These Iowans created an amazing tart and semi-sweet cider with aronia berries. It's completely refreshing. Visit the restaurant to try their cider and enjoy their farm-raised Iowa beef. These Iowans have farm-to-table figured out.

7. Crimson Sunset Cidery, Cascade
