There’s a new themed bar on Main Street in Cedar Falls, Iowa. But this is no run-of-the-mill bar. It’s a mob themed, Prohibition-era speakeasy with a lively, Roaring ’20s vibe. It’s loud and raucous and rollicking and innovative and cutting edge, like something straight off the streets of Los Angeles or New York City… except it’s tucked away right here in Iowa.
Welcome to Mob Bar, located at 419 Main Street in Cedar Falls.
Step inside this cutting-edge establishment, and travel back in time to the Roaring '20s and the Prohibition eras, when thousands of hidden speakeasies served up forbidden spirits to a thirsty nation.
The brainchild of New Yorker Brian "Bo$$" Cohen, Mob Bar in Cedar Falls is one of just a few locations across the nation of this new, up-and-coming bar chain (there's also one in California and Texas).
Mob Bar is a strictly age 21-and-up establishment. Dress to impress when you come, even if you're coming just to watch the football game... this is no casual, run down old bar! Suits, ties, dresses, heels, dress shirts, slacks, a flapper or two - that's predominately what you'll find here.
Usually, admittance is free, but be prepared for a cover charge on weekends from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m. to pay the DJ. Other things to note: the menu is vegetarian, and reservations are recommended on weekends and holidays.
To learn more about this new, upscale, unique Iowa establishment, visit Mob Bar on Facebook or at the restaurant’s website. Check their hours and watch for nightly specials. Have you visited Iowa’s only Prohibition-era speakeasy yet? How was it? If themed bars are your idea of a good time, you might love a night at this ultra-cool Bond themed hotel that’s also right here in Iowa!
