Summer just wouldn’t be the same without our traditions, would it? We all have our own traditions – whether it’s spending a few nights at our favorite campground or cooking out on Sunday afternoons. But, have you ever been strawberry picking in Iowa? If not, you’re in for a real treat, maybe even launching the start of a new tradition.
Stroll through the rows and rows of lush strawberries, spanning 17 acres, at Getting's Garden in Sanborn.
Pick up one, two, or more of the containers to fill with ripe strawberries. Getting's Garden, which celebrates its 35th year in 2019, grows three types of strawberries...
Keep an eye out for one of eight hand-painted strawberry rocks, hiding among the real strawberries. If you find one, you win a scrumptious strawberry shake.
Watch the little ones play in the sand box. Then, head into the farm market to stock up on fresh strawberries and other goodies, including homemade donuts.
