While bigger cities generally get most of the awards and attention for their cuisine, it’s so great to see this long-time family restaurant in small town Le Mars, Iowa get the recognition it so richly deserves. Archie’s Waeside holds its own with steakhouses in New York, Los Angeles and Chicago, but we’re probably not as surprised as the rest of the country, are we?
Iowans know quality beef, and we know how to prepare it. This amazing restaurant specializes in dry aged steaks, cooked to order, and they are among some of the best steaks you’ll find in the country. Archie’s has been recognized as one of the top 10 best steakhouses in the country by Pure Wow, and they won a prestigious American Classic Award from the James Beard Foundation in 2015.
This award-winning restaurant has been a fixture in Northwest Iowa for three generations, and they have a fantastic wine list to boot. What’s better than an impeccably prepared steak and a great glass of red wine? Their homey and inviting atmosphere, small town hospitality and award-winning steaks definitely merit them a visit very soon.
