As technology improved and air travel became more popular, train depots began to shut down as rail companies merged and shifted. One historic depot in Grinnell has been reopened as the coolest railroad restaurant in Iowa.

This former Rock Island Railroad Station has been fully converted into one of Grinnell's best restaurants.
