Iowa is known for being the country’s top pork producer, and we’re probably the only state that celebrates each year’s Pork Queen at the State Fair. That being said, if you’re looking for enjoy the absolute best pork in the Hawkeye State, visit Davenport’s legendary Machine Shed restaurant and dig in.
The Machine Shed has been a Davenport icon since it first opened in 1978. Now, there are several locations, but the original is still a gem.
Start your day with the Pork Producer's Breakfast, featuring eggs, thick cut smoked bacon, smoked ham and smoked country sausage - plus toast, and your choice of sides.
For lunch, try their famous Breaded Pork Tenderloin sandwich. It's their most popular dish for a reason - you really can't make it any better than this!
One pork lover's favorite is the Heartland Combo. Enjoy their Stuffed Roasted Pork Loin with a Parmesan Crusted Pork Loin, and two bacon wrapped pork tenderloin medallions.
