In the historic Amana Colonies in east-central Iowa, there’s a charming general store that will take you back in time as soon as you step inside. The Amanas are a settlement of seven villages built by German Pietists who fled persecution in their homeland and settled there.

The sandstone and frame building was constructed in 1858, with a first floor store and a second floor residence, and the goods sold there reflect the community’s long history of quality and craftsmanship.
