Now that Memorial Day weekend has passed, many of Iowa’s seasonal attractions are up and running! Every summer, Iowans flock to Clear Lake to enjoy the charming town’s shops, festivals, restaurants and of course, the lake itself. One of the coolest attractions in the state is based right here in Clear Lake, and if you’ve never cruised on the Lady of the Lake, you’ve been missing out on an adventure like no other.
The Lady of the Lake is one of the most iconic sights on Clear Lake.
This beautiful paddlewheel ferry was built in 1960 and originally transported passengers across the Missouri River. When it was purchased by Gary and Karen Geist, of Clear Lake in 1985, it was the only paddleboat ferry still in operation. Today, it's docked at the Clear Lake Sea Wall.
The Lady of the Lake is one of the few true paddlewheel boats still in operation!
