Here in Iowa, we appreciate the art of locally-made products. It’s the local artisans, crafters, designers, and creatives that help shape Iowa’s identity, and we couldn’t be more excited for opportunities to support this thriving art scene. Today, we’d like to introduce you to a wonderful store that’s committed to celebrating all things local: Iowa Makers.
This Northeast Iowa destination shop is the perfect place to browse for gifts, draw inspiration, and kindle a deep sense of pride for the Hawkeye State. If you have an appreciation for locally-made goodies, you’ll be glad to add this specialty store to your radar. (Spoiler alert: you’ll most likely be leaving with at least a few items in tow!)
Located in the town of Dundee in Delaware County awaits a wonderful gift shop dedicated to Iowa-made goods.
The moment you set foot inside the store, which was established in 2019, you'll find yourself surrounded by an array of goods, gifts, and products that will delight just about anyone.
Inventory includes scented soy candles, stained glass, jewelry, woodcrafts, paintings, cutting boards, oils, spoons, soaps, and more. The store receives new items on a daily basis, so you really never know what treasures you'll discover!
Iowa Makers is perhaps best-known for its collection of functional pottery. The store is home to Snowy River Pottery, whose talented potter has been making beautiful and professional products for over twenty years.
Each year, during the last weekend in September, Iowa Makers participates in the Backbone Area Artists Tour, a unique self-guided tour through the Backbone Area's most intriguing art galleries, studios, and shops. For those who can't get enough of locally-made products, this event is a must!
So whether you're fascinated by Delaware County's artistic scene or just happen to be in the market for beautiful products made right here in Iowa (and who isn't?!), you'll cherish your experience at Iowa Makers.
