Every year, Iowans gather to celebrate the best couple in the state - Coffee and Donuts! The Iowa Coffee and Donut Festival is held in Des Moines each spring, much to the delight of foodies everywhere.
Dozens and dozens of donuts are waiting for you at the Capital Square. Will you stuff your face with sprinkles, or choose a Boston Creme to start the day?
There are always plenty of vendors showing off their donut decorating skills. If you're a fan of powdered donuts or cider donuts, you're sure to find a few sweet treats that you will love.
The day is packed with contests, games, and entertainment. The Donut eating contest challenges participants to eat as many donuts as they can in a three minute period. It's always so competitive!
At the end of the day, someone will be crowned Donut Queen. This is a honor that's sure to go to anyone's head - can you imagine being the Queen of Donuts? What a responsibility!
