When it comes to arts, culture and literature, it’s hard to find a place more vibrant than our own Iowa City. Iowa City is one of just 20 UNESCO Cities of Literature in the world, and it was the 3rd one overall to be granted that title! Every year, Iowa City brings together book lovers from all over the region to enjoy the multi-day Iowa City Book Festival, which is a book lover’s dream come true.
Iowa City is one of the world's best literature cities, and we didn't need UNESCO to tell us that!
With everything from famous keynote speakers, author signings, round table discussions and even workshops, this book festival is a bibliophile's paradise!
If you're a writer, you'll want to join in on the events at the Workshop tent. Improve your skill and speak with others who are in the same boat at one of the many classes and seminars.
Take advantage of the rare chance to sit in on lectures and discussions led by the country's top scholars and writers in bookshops and stores around town.
Keep an eye on the Book Festival website, here, for information on ticket sales and a final schedule. While you’re in town, be sure to take time to check out Prairie Lights. This bookstore is one of the most famous in the world and you’ll never want to leave.
