Here's Iowa's Top Outdoor Attraction And You'll Definitely Want To Do It

In the last week alone, we’ve sent you outside the big cities to a secluded restaurant along the South Skunk River , to a tiny town completely surrounded by natural beauty and to a bakery on a farm in the middle of Iowa. Today, we’re reversing the flow and taking you inside Iowa’s largest city to TripAdvisor users “favorite outdoor attraction” in Iowa. And the best part? It’s free.
The Pappajohn Sculpture Park in Des Moines is the number one outdoor place both locals and visitors go - and it's easy to see why.
This 4.4-acre urban oasis is a serene sanctuary in the middle of the otherwise chaotic hustle of city living.
The park opened in 2009 under the administration of neighboring Des Moines Art Center and is a photographer's dream. But you don't need to be a photographer to love this park.

...to the more structured and recognizable works, Pappajohn Sculpture Park provides some interesting conversation pieces, that's for sure.
From the aerial photo we showed you above, this urban park looks almost flat, but in reality it's not.
You can see some different elevations in this photo taken last summer. Interestingly, most of the people seen in this shot are Pokemon Go players from when the craze that swept the nation last year.
