Iowa Has Its Very Own Old World Christmas Market And You’ll Want To Visit

Head over to Cedar Rapids this weekend to enjoy the rich holiday traditions of the Czech and Slovak cultures. There’s so much here to see and do.
It's time for the 8th annual Old World Christmas Market at the National Czech & Slovak Museum & Library.
It's happening Saturday, December 2nd between 10 am and 5 pm and Sunday, December 3 between 10 am and 3 pm at the museum in Cedar Rapids.
On Saturday, from 10 am until 1 pm and 2 pm until 5 pm, there will be horse and wagon rides around the circle drive area in front of the beautiful Czech and Slovak Museum.
There will be a shuttle between Sokol Park, Cherry Building, NewBo Market, Czech Village, and the African American Museum of Iowa. Parking is limited in the area of the museum, so this is a great service.
Shop the Old World Christmas Market Vendor Marketplace in Heritage Hall at the museum.
You can even have ornaments personalized by Master Czech Folk Artist Marj Nejdl in the on-site museum store.
The Museum Guild Cookie Walk starts at 9:30 am in Rozek Grand Hall.
Learn about Czech and Slovak holiday traditions in the Skala Bartizal Library.
There will be live music throughout this two-day event.
Enjoy Silbertaler Musikanten, Svetlusky Youth Ensemble, and Czech Heritage Singers in the Rozek Grand Hall.
The traditional Czech Heritage Foundation Wreath Raffle is happening in Heritage Hall.
