During the same time, another unique program outside of the CCC’s scope built a gorgeous park along the Wapsipinicon River, and now you can hike through Wapsipinicon State Park thanks to the efforts of inmates at the Anamosa State Penitentiary, who built the facilities, bridges, and roads.
