East Grove Farm was founded by two abolitionists in 1837.

Since then, it has been in continual operation as a family farm! According to most records, this is the oldest family farm in the Hawkeye State.
A few years ago, the Garretsons began restoring the farmhouse and planting elderberries on the property.

Joel C. Garretson is a direct descendant of the original farmers here, and he wanted to rejuvenate East Grove Farms with something a little new.

This ancient drink was accidentally discovered 20,000 years ago by hunters who drank fermented honey water. They were quite happy when they realized its intoxicating effects.
