The Easy Trail That Might As Well Be The Wildflower Capital Of Iowa
Even in a wide-open state like Iowa, it can sometimes feel hard to find a place that’s truly out of the way. Many of the most beautiful places in Iowa are jammed with people looking for the same gorgeous spot to take some pictures! That’s why I was so happy to find out about the Belva-Deer Lake Loop, located along the lake of the same name in the rural town of Sigourney. A 6.2-mile trail, it features relatively even terrain – and there are plenty of areas around the lake where the path is paved. But those who wander a little off the beaten path onto some of the less-traveled sections of the trail will find open grassland and gorgeous beds of wildflowers that provide some of the best views in the entire state. No matter the season, it’s an amazing retreat into one of Iowa’s most peaceful havens. Check out this secret wildflower hike in Iowa below!
