The bridge’s stunning lights are kept on until midnight each night making it also one of the most romantic spots in the Hawkeye State.

The High Trestle Bridge is part of a rails-to-trails conversion; the bridge portion was completed in 2011. In all, the High Trestle Trail encompasses 25 miles and travels into three Iowa counties. The stunning one-half-mile walking and biking trail on the bridge itself is 10 feet wide and attracts thousands of sightseers each week.
