Iowa has some great bookstores, but it long lacked a specialty store dedicated entirely to children’s books! That all changed in the small town of Marion, thanks to a small independent bookstore called Swamp Fox Books. Operating for several years as part of a collection of micro-shops known as West End Marion, Swamp Fox Books has now moved out of its old digs and into a larger building – and it’s adorable old location has been given a new coat of paint and a cute new mascot as part of its transformation into Swamp Fox Kids! The first dedicated children’s bookstore in Iowa, Swamp Fox Kids packs a lot of fun into a small location and has been rolling out the red carpet with some unique events. Come on in, bring the kids, and help them kick off a lifelong love of reading.
