The heart and soul of Iowa are the small towns scattered throughout the state. Each of these communities has its own unique points of interest, its own unique history, its own unique style. Many of them have fun, quaint downtown areas filled with impressive old buildings and charming small businesses. Out of all these places, it’s impossible to list all of the best, but here are seven of our favorites.
1. Clarinda
With a plethora of historic buildings, an active community calendar, and a downtown revitalization project completed in 2019, Clarinda is an excellent choice for a visit.
