Des Moines is one of the most underrated foodie cities on earth. Many Iowans head here for a great meal at an unusual restaurants, but locals love the timeless Iowa restaurants that they grew up with. One of these Midwestern classics is Noah’s Ark, the post World War II dining room that plans to bring good food to families for generations to come.
When Noah Lacona founded his restaurant in the 1940s, he dreamed it would one day be an iconic Iowa spot known for home cooked meals and friendly service. Today, Noah's Ark is known for exactly that.
In the beginning, Noah's Ark earned a reputation for serving up the best pizza in Iowa. People still drive from all over to try a specialty pie or calzone.
Along with classic Midwestern dishes, though, Noah's is known for making mouth-watering Italian food that will remind you of your Grandma's Sunday suppers.
Noah’s Ark truly gets better with age! In a city that’s always buzzing about the latest quirky new restaurant, it’s nice to have an old-school oasis waiting for you. Find Noah’s Ark at 2400 Ingersoll Ave, Des Moines, IA 50312. They’re open Monday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., and from 11 a.m. to 12 a.m. on Friday and Saturday.
