Iowa is truly a book lovers’ state. Not only are we home to the America’s only UNESCO City of Literature, but hundreds of our cities are home to charming, independent bookstores. You’ll fall in love with the oldest and largest used bookstore in Iowa, a family-owned venture located right in Davenport.
Source Bookstore began in a small living room in 1939, and by the 1940s, George Pekio's store was doing well enough to establish a shop in Davenport.
If you're looking for a rare, vintage book or a unique gift to give, ask the shopkeepers! They're just about the most enthusiastic book lovers you'll evermeet.
Don't forget to visit the movie & music section of the store. With over 1,500 used vinyl records and hundreds of DVDs in stock, Source Bookstore will meet all of your entertainment needs!
You’ll find the family-owned Source Bookstore at 232 W 3rd St., Davenport, IA 52801. The store is open 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, and from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturdays. Stop by and shop til you drop!
