Have you ever envied the view of a hawk or eagle soaring high above the landscape? If so, here’s your chance to climb up almost as high as a bird and gaze out across miles of beautiful Iowa countryside. You may even come face to face with a raptor or two as you enjoy the view!
Perched on a secluded shore of Iowa's largest lake, Cordova Park is a true hidden treasure. It's a beautiful mix of beach, water, cliffs, fossils, cabins, a playground, and an observation tower.
It's 106 feet high, and if you're willing to shell out 50 cents to pass through the gate and climb all the stairs to the top, you'll get one of the best views in the whole state.
Cordova Park closes at 8 p.m. For more information on the park and the amenities it offers, including biking trails and an event pavilion, visit the park’s website here. You can even bike on a new trail all the way from Cordova Park to nearby Pella, Iowa. If you do, don’t forget to pick up some delicious Dutch pastries at Jaarsma’s Bakery to fuel you up for your return ride!
