For Almost 40 Years, Iowans Have Been Gathering To Spot Bald Eagles At This Unique Festival On The River
Did you know that Iowa is one of the top places in the nation to spot bald eagles? Year after year, people gather along the river to watch these impressive birds of prey hunt, fish, and build their nests. One community on the water celebrates with an annual festival dedicated to our national mascot. This year, the Clinton Bald Eagle Watch will be held on Saturday, January 4, 2020, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

For another fascinating way to keep tabs on eagles, follow the Stewards of the Upper Mississippi River Refuge and their nesting cameras. All winter long you'll be able to see birds build their nests, and in the spring, raise their young.
