Do you miss the old soda fountains of your youth? Have you tried to explain the magic of getting a root beer float and a grilled cheese to your kids or grandkids, but they don’t quite get the point? Well, luckily there’s a place you can bring them that’s fun for everyone in the family! Candyland Station is a throwback soda fountain that serves up some amazing food, tasty ice cream, and a big serving of Americana to every guest that walks in.
Candyland Station is located at 831 West St., Grinnell, IA 50112
The gas pumps outside are restored Mobile gas pumps. They no longer work, but they really make a visit to Candyland Station feel like you've stepped back in time.

Inside, you'll find genuine soda-fountain bar stools and booths, and even a jukebox!
Candyland Station owner, Roberta See, had to travel to Michigan to find a working vintage jukebox that plays tunes from the 1950s and 1960s.
See was determined to help recreate the experience of visiting the old, original Candyland, which was started by two Greek immigrants in 1914 in Grinnell.

The menu here is pretty simple, and reminiscent of the good old days.
Start off with homemade chili, soup, or a salad. You'll want to consider ordering from their soda menu, too. Instead of the standard offerings, try their 1919 Root Beer in a frosty mug.
You can also treat yourself to a grilled cheese, tuna melt, hot dog or one of their other, similar, offerings. The menu keeps it simple, just like the original Candyland.
Inspired by the most famous treat from the original Candyland, this sundae consists of ice cream topped with chocolate marshmallow and salted Spanish peanuts.
You can also find delicious cookies, cupcakes and homemade pies here.
Many people make the stop for a photo opportunity and to enjoy their old-fashioned meals from an old-fashioned soda fountain, while they're out for a drive in a historic car.
