When you’re on a quest to find the most unique town in Iowa, Brooklyn tops the list. Sure, we’ve got towns that could have been plucked from the Netherlands and we’ve got old fashioned villages in several spots, but nothing quite compares to the Community of Flags.
Plenty of Iowa's small cities have a unique claim to fame, but none is quite as interesting as the town of Brooklyn, Iowa.
The town's main flag display has one enormous flag for each of the 50 states, four branches of the military, and several other groups right in the center of town.
Brooklyn doesn't just stop there, though. Throughout the entire town you'll see flags on display, from residents and shopkeepers celebrating their patriotism or their heritage.
There's even a shop dedicated to flags! You'll find everything you need to create a flag display of your own here - or just a few trinkets to spruce up your house.
