This time of year is the perfect time to explore the Hawkeye State. Our gorgeous Iowa is on display in the fall, as the hills and cliffs light up with gorgeous reds, oranges, and ambers. Driving around the state is one of the most convenient ways to peep the fall colors, but the best way to see the state involves traveling along miles of historic train tracks, on the Boone and Scenic Valley Railroad.
The Boone and Scenic Valley Railroad offers one of the most unique ways to see the Iowa countryside - from a historic train!
There are scenic rides, themed rides (featuring Thomas the Tank Engine, Santa Claus, or a handful of other characters depending on the ride you choose!)
This time of year, the hillsides are so beautiful and bursting with fall color! The train rides out and back along nearly 12 miles of track, for a nearly two hour scenic ride.
