Iowans really know their beef! We’re a huge producer of steaks and chops, and there are hundreds of little steakhouses that turn out delicious meals every single night. One place in particular has earned a reputation for serving the biggest steaks in Iowa, so if you’re hungry, you’ll want to make the trek.
The Big Steer is located at 1715 Adventureland Dr., Altoona, IA 50009. They’re open from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and from 5 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. on Fridays. Saturday hours are from 4 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., and you can join them for dinner from 4:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Sundays.
