When it comes to steaks, Iowans tend to be carnivorous connoisseurs. That’s why, when someone tells you they may have found the biggest prime rib in Iowa, you pay attention! To try a larger-than-life mouthwatering steak, head to a tiny town outside of Sioux City where you’ll find a cut that’s hard to believe.
The town of Anthon, Iowa, is quite literally in the middle of nowhere. With a population of about 500 people, this tiny city made headlines when it was home to Charles Osborne, a man who had the hiccups continuously for 68 years.
Beyond that Guinness World Record bit of trivia, though, there's another reason that Iowans talk about this Woodbury County town - it's home to what may be the biggest prime rib in Iowa.
Fireside Steakhouse and Lounge has foodies talking! This hole-in-the-wall is worth the drive from practically anywhere in the Hawkeye State.
Seriously, you've never seen anything like this! Their everyday menu features a 16 oz sirloin that's as big as the plate, a 20 oz T-Bone that could feed an army, a 16 oz New York Strip Steak that will melt in your mouth, and more.
If you somehow manage to save room for dessert, you'll be in for a treat. Fireside Steakhouse makes their own pies and pastries, and each one is the perfect sweet treat to wrap up a truly indulgent meal.
