When it comes to delicious Mexican food, there are so many hidden gems throughout Iowa selling the best tacos around. One such spot is hidden at the back of a Latin Market in Iowa City, and you’ve got to try their tacos al pastor.
El Paso is a tiny Taqueria and Latin Market in Iowa City. Keep an eye out, it's easy to drive right past.
You'll find it at 601 Hollywood Blvd., Iowa City, IA 52240.
This tiny storefront is located in the shadow of a Little Ceasar's Pizza, and I'm amazing that people still go for that pizza when the most authentic food is right behind this door.
Be prepared to order off the menu in Spanish, but don't feel out of place if you don't speak it! The staff here is accommodating and will make sure you're happy with your food.
El Paso Taqueria and Latin Market is open 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and on Sundays from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.. Pick up a variety of spices, sauces and other Latin specialities here along with your best-of-Iowa tacos and you’ll be thrilled, no matter how far out of the way this Taqueria may be.
